The Haiti Nutrition Project (HNP), established in 2008, is an initiative and subsidiary of the Canaan Christian Community and Orphanage in Montrouis, Haiti. HNP is a community based malnutrition treatment program. Our goal is to forge long-term partnerships with Haitian families to treat severely malnourished children. Our primary target is children from 6 months to 5 years old. The strategy is to use Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) products to combat severe malnutrition. We currently use Medika Mamba, a peanut-based RUTF manufactured by Meds and Food for Kids. To read more about RUTF click here. Please visit our blog to follow the story.
